Coordinator Role Vacancy

Predator Free Bay of Plenty is a community-led backyard trapping programme targeting rats and mice in the Western Bay of Plenty area. We are a team of passionate and committed conservation practitioners supporting the local community to remove pests from their backyards to help our native species thrive again.


We now have a vacancy for a part-time project coordinator for 10 hours per week to be the helpful interface supporting community leaders and groups and individual trappers. We’re looking for someone who can be a champion for our diverse communities and assist people and community leaders to get set up with rat traps and equip them with the knowledge to be successful rat trappers and advocates of the backyard trapping programme.


The ideal candidate will have good organisation and community engagement skills, be adaptive, helpful and creative. It would be a bonus if the candidate possessed exceptional planning and communications expertise.


If you have skills and experience in coordinating projects and connecting with the community, we want to hear from you! Our ideal candidate will have:


• Proven strengths in project coordination, administration and event organisation

• You will be a naturally, confident relationship builder

• Be passionate about the environment and protection of native species

• Helpful and adaptable

• Have experience in creating content for social media, newsletters and preparing reports

• Proven teamwork and communication skills

• Good procurement skills and stock management

• Clean and full drivers licence


To be successful in this role you must be an enthusiastic, proactive person with the ability to lead and coordinate the delivery of our backyard trapping programme.
